Spotlight 29 Casino is proud to welcome Los Huracanes del Norte and Banda Machos on Saturday, May 4th at 8pm in the Spotlight Showroom.
Los Huracanes del Norte are one of the most popular Norteño groups to emerge since their formation nearly 50 years ago. Their 1973 debut album contained the hit “Corrdio de Daniel Treviño,” which received significant airplay on both sides of the border. The band’s mainstream breakthrough came in 1978 with the release of La Musiquera, which earned them their first gold record.
From the 1980s to the present, Los Huracanes has toured the U.S. and Mexico extensively, earning hordes of new fans along the way. With the release of 2017’s Alm Bohemia, the band cemented its place as one of the genre's definitive groups.
Hailing from Villa Corona, Jalisco, Banda Machos paved the way for the la quebradita style, melding banda with ranchera and cumbia to create a more danceable approach to tradition. Their 1990 debut, Serian la Dos, showcased their infectiously hooky, polyrhythmic grooves.
The band’s breakthrough 1992 album, Con Sangre de Indio, peaked at No. 16 on the Mexican Regional Albums chart and received substantial airplay in the U.S. Since then, they have placed 10 albums and 14 singles on the Latin Albums charts.
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with two of Mexico’s most popular groups on Saturday, May 4th in the Spotlight Showroom.
