Founded in 2002 in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, Voz de Mando made a name for itself with the self-released albums Levantando la Voz and 12 Impactos de Alto Calibre, both in 2009. In 2011, the group was featured in the Oscar-nominated film “A Better Life,” including their hit “Comandos Del MP 500 Balazos.”  The ensuing singles “Y Ahora Resulta” (2012) and “Muchacho de Campo” (2013) were crossover hits winning numerous awards, critical and fan recognition.

In 2014, the group released the single “Batalla del Golfo,” which became the basis for Voz de Mando’s sixth studio album, Levantado Polvadera. The title track won Song of the Year in the Regional Music category at the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Awards — Voz de Mando becoming the first Mexican regional band to win the award.

In 2017, Voz de Mando dropped their seventh studio album featuring two chart-topping singles, including the viral sensation “Soldado Latinoamericano,” which quickly became a hymn of Latino pride on both sides of the border. The same year, “Pa’ que no me anden Contando” was a top-10 Billboard hit dominating radio play in the U.S.

Opening the Gran Baile is popular Norteno musician Kanales, who came to California at age 15 with his family from Sinaloa. He is best known for the hits “Leyes De Mi Rancho” and “Trementina” from the album Coronas Doradas. The record also features a popular collaboration with El Fantasma, “Los Cuervos.”

Be there for the Big Dance with Voz de Mando and Kanales on Saturday, March 16th at 8 p.m. in the Spotlight Showroom!
