Spotlight 29 Casino is proud to present Kool & The Gang on Saturday, March 25. Kool & The Gang has sold over 70 million albums worldwide and influenced the music of three generations. Thanks to songs like “Celebration,” “Cherish,” “Jungle Boogie,” “Summer Madness” and “Open Sesame,” they’ve earned two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, 25 Top Ten R&B hits, nine Top Ten Pop hits, and 31 gold and platinum albums. Kool & The Gang has performed continuously for the past 45 years, longer than any R&B group in history. Their bulletproof funk and tough, jazzy arrangements have also made them the most sampled band of all time. Dwight Yoakam has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, and he is a 21-time nominated, multiple GRAMMY Award winner. He has 12 gold albums and 9 platinum or multi-platinum albums, with five of those albums topping Billboard?s Country Albums chart, and another 14 landing in the Top 10. Nearly 40 of Yoakam's singles have charted, with 14 peaking in the Top 10. He received the Artist of the Year award at the 2013 Americana Music Honors & Awards ceremony, the most prestigious award offered by the organization. In September of 2016, Yoakam released his first ever bluegrass album Swimmin' Pools, Movie Stars.. on Sugar Hill Records. Featuring a band of bluegrass luminaries, this album boasts a collection of reinterpreted favorites from his catalogue, as well as a cover of Prince's "Purple Rain." Produced by nine-time GRAMMY winner Gary Paczosa (Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton), Jon Randall (songwriter of "Whiskey Lullaby"), and Yoakam himself, and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, this album reflects the love for bluegrass music that Yoakam developed at an early age in Kentucky, and that has inspired him for many years thereafter. Spotlight 29 Casino welcomes back Paquita La Del Barrio on Friday, April 7. Paquita, nicknamed “Franny from the neighborhood,” is known as one of the great defenders of women through her socially relevant songs. Paquita began her career in Mexico City where she succeeded in gaining popularity with live performances filled with her songs about courage, pride and social stigmas. Some of her well known songs include “Acabame de Matar,” “Ni un Cigarro,” “El Fracaso de mi Amor,” “Un Amor a Mi Medida,” “Borrate,” “Me saludas a la tuy,” “El Precio de tu Amor,” and “No hay Quinto Malo.”

Spotlight 29 Casino is proud to bring the soulful sounds of R&B superstar Keith Sweat back to the Spotlight Showroom on Saturday, April 22. Sweat is known for his distinctive voice and romantic lyrics. He has enjoyed numerous top 10 hits on the R&B charts, including “Something Just Ain't Right," "Make It Last Forever," "Don't Stop Your Love” and “I Want Her.” His debut solo album in 1987 spurred a number one R&B song with “I Want Her” and inaugurated the New Jack Swing Era. His 1990 album I'll Give All My Love to You featured the hits "Make You Sweat," "Merry Go Round" and "I'll Give All My Love to You." Sweat also recorded two albums with Gerald LeVert and Johnny Gill, billed as LSG. The "Baddest Little Show on Earth" is coming back to Spotlight 29 Casino on Saturday, April 29. This big-time show features wrestlers from the Extreme Midget Wrestling Federation (EMWF), with heights at four feet, 10 inches tall or under. The EMWF has been traveling around the country, and just like regular-sized wrestlers, they smack each other over the head with chairs, throw each other over tables and perform high-flying leaps from the ropes.

Spotlight 29 Casino is proud to present La Original Banda El Limon to the Spotlight Showroom on Friday, May 5. La Original Banda El Limon takes its name from the city of Limon of Los Peraza located north of Mazatlan. They have celebrated countless successes throughout Mexico and the United States, spreading the unique sound of banda music throughout the world. In 2006, this group was awarded three gold records for “En Vivo,” “Hella A Dangerous” and “The Other Face of the Coin.” Other notable songs include “In The Purits Bones,” “The Suata,” “If Your Love Does not Come Back,” “Give Me Your Love,” “Smell The Danger,” “Cheque En Blanco,” and “The Essence of Your Life,” among others.

Spotlight 29 Casino is proud to present guitar icon and member of the legendary rock n’ roll group the Eagles, Joe Walsh, on Friday, May 19. Best known for his powerful guitar licks, Joe Walsh has entertained the masses and captivated his peers for more than three decades with such classics as “Funk #49,” “Walk Away,” “Life’s Been Good,” and “Ordinary Average Guy.” In 1969, Walsh found success with The James Gang, followed by a stint with Barnstorm, a trio he founded. In 1973, Joe released his first solo album, which proved him a legitimate solo act with a limitless career on the horizon. By 1975, he joined The Eagles, bringing a harder rock sound to the group with the acclaimed Hotel California, The Long Run and Eagles Live. In 1994, after a 14-year hiatus and several solo albums, The Eagles released Hell Freezes Over, which reached #1 on the Billboard charts and sparked one of the most successful tours in music history. And in 1998 The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first year they were nominated. Walsh performed at the 2012 Grammy’s with Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl and at the 2012 MusiCares event honoring Paul McCartney. That June, Walsh released Analog Man, his first solo album in 20 years, performing solo shows around the world to support it throughout that year. In 2013, the award winning The History of The Eagles showcased at Sundance, the two-part authorized documentary, and in February it aired on Showtime. In conjunction with the April release onto DVD the Eagles began their extensive The History of The Eagles World Tour. On February 9, 2014 Walsh was featured in several songs on the CBS Special The Night The Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles. In 2014 Walsh played select solo shows as well as with the Eagles on The History of The Eagles World Tour, with new dates continuing throughout 2015. In April 2015, Walsh performed with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr for Starr’s Induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, later broadcast on HBO. In May 2015, Walsh joined Eddie Vedder and Pete Townsend for an All-Star Celebration of The Who’s music to benefit Teen Cancer America. Spotlight 29 Casino is proud to present hilarious comedian Mo’Nique to the Spotlight Showroom on Saturday, May 20. Monique Angela Hicks known professionally as Mo'Nique, is a comedian and actress. She first gained fame for her role as Nicole "Nikki" Parker in the UPN series The Parkers, while making a name as a stand-up comedian hosting a variety of venues, including Showtime at the Apollo. Mo'Nique transitioned to film with roles in such films as Phat Girlz, and Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins. In 2002, she with other female comedians earned a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album. In 2009, she received critical praise for her role as the abusive Mary Lee Johnston in the film Precious and won numerous awards including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She hosted The Mo'Nique Show, a late-night talk show that premiered in 2009 on BET. In 2015, she received rave reviews for her performance as Ma Rainey in the HBO biopic Bessie and earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. Ziggy Marley Spotlight 29 Casino is excited to bring reggae legend Ziggy Marley back to the Spotlight Showroom on Friday, June 16. Ziggy Marley remains receptive to the countless muses and magnetic flurries of creativity surrounding him on his musical journey. In 2014, he fully embraced a distinct freedom while working on his fifth solo offering Fly Rasta—which received the 2015 GRAMMY® Award for “Best Reggae Album.” Maintaining that mindset, he went one step further on his 2016 self-titled sixth full-length album, for which Marley was just awarded his 8th GRAMMY®. In 2015, Ziggy began crafting ideas for what would become his latest body of work in his bedroom and home studio. Throughout the course of his three-decade career and 16 albums, Ziggy has built a music legacy worthy of his legendary family name. With eight GRAMMY® Awards and an EMMY® to his credit, the humanitarian, singer, songwriter, and producer continually progresses at every turn.
